Brazilian Butt Lift, Fat Grafting, Fat Transfer

Hearing the word “fat” can be antagonizing. We try to avoid unhealthy fat in our foods and gaining fat on our bodies. A lean and toned body is the general ideal, and it has become a common goal among many. The high standard to have a trim body has many turning to solutions such as fad diets, rigorous exercises, and cosmetic procedures to get rid of fat and to improve the appearance of the body. However, fat doesn’t necessarily have to be the enemy. In certain areas, having extra volume added can improve someone’s appearance. A person who lacks fat in one area and wants to remove fat from another may have an opportunity to use fat to their advantage. That’s right! Fat can be your friend!

When Fat Is a Good Thing

Instead of looking at fat as your adversary, why not “befriend” fat with fat grafting? The fat grafting technique allows a person to remove fat bulges in one or more areas of the body and transfer it to another area to create a more full and youthful appearance.

Before and After Fat Grafting Restoring the Facial Appearance

Aging can cause the face to lose volume, causing the development of unwanted fine lines and wrinkles. Fat grafting can be used to target signs of aging on the face by restoring depressed areas to create a smoother, more rejuvenated appearance. The lips can also be augmented using fat transfer to provide fuller, more plump lips.

Before and After Brazilian Butt Lift Augmenting the Buttocks

As the demand for a larger, more round backside continues to grow, so does the demand for procedures such as the Brazilian Buttock Lift. Just like fat grafting for the face, the Brazilian Buttock Lift involves the use of fat to add volume. By inserting fat into the buttocks to add mass and alter the shape, Dr. Wilson can enhance the buttocks. Patients can achieve a curvy posterior and more toned backside that looks and feels natural.

The Fat Grafting Procedure

Fat grafting can be performed with general anesthesia, local anesthesia, or intravenous sedation. The process typically takes one to two hours and is performed as an outpatient procedure. Fat is removed from the body using liposuction. Common areas that fat is removed from include the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs. Once the harvested fat is cleansed and purified, it is placed in a small needle and syringe that is used to carefully and strategically insert the fat into the desired area.
